One Sentence Summary
The article delves into the psychological realities behind the pet ownership craze, cautioning individuals to critically examine human limitations and their capacity for responsibility before being swayed by the idealized 'pet advertisements' on social media.
Summary
This article offers a profound psychological and social observation on the topic of pet ownership. The author points out that pet content on social media is essentially a 'lifestyle advertisement,' which, by showcasing highly beautified and flawless images, misleads people into the illusion that owning a pet equates to achieving a perfect life. The article emphasizes that the large number of stray animals in reality proves that abandonment has become commonplace. The root cause is that pet owners often only desire the 'cute' side of pets, unable to bear the accompanying troubles and pressures. The author urges deep self-reflection before deciding to own a pet: Have you truly recognized and accepted the dual nature of things? Pet ownership is a test of human nature; only by acknowledging one's imperfections and being willing to pay the price can such companionship hold true meaning.
Main Points
* 1. Beware of Social Media's Idealized Portrayal of Pet Ownership.Online pet videos are often meticulously edited performances, constructing an illusion of a flawless, perfect life that conceals the genuine trivialities and stresses inherent in pet ownership. * 2. Pet Ownership: A Profound Test of Human Nature; Do Not Overestimate Your Patience. Many individuals outsource care responsibilities to nannies or ultimately resort to abandonment, which fundamentally reflects human nature's tendency to seek pleasure and avoid pain, and an unwillingness to bear burdens. A thorough understanding of one's own human nature is crucial before committing to pet ownership. * 3. A Mature Pet Ownership Mindset Requires Equally Accepting Both Sides of the Coin.Pet ownership is not a one-sided pursuit of joy; it's a beverage half-filled with happiness and half with troubles. One must be prepared to confront an equal measure of frustration and distress.

Key Quotes
* Because you are human, and humanity inherently possesses a dual nature, with both light and shadow, do not overestimate your own human capacity. * However much you adore the cuteness and charm of pets, you must also be prepared to confront an equal measure of troubles and frustrations. Both will inevitably arrive; you have no choice. * While you may not be a perfect pet, I am far from a perfect owner, and indeed, not even a perfect human. Let us strive together, adapt to one another, and simply make do with accompanying each other for a period of time. * The mindset that one is a perfect person and thus entitled to possess all perfect things will inevitably lead to significant trouble.
