Tianqiao Chen on Compliance and Governance for Global AI Companies
("no one-time transfer is a real solution")Manus
Show More

The discussion around Manus has made me reflect on a broader question: what does it really take to build an AI company across multiple jurisdictions in a world where regulation, geopolitics, and public scrutiny are changing faster than most companies can adapt?I believe this will become one of the defining challenges for the next generation of AI companies.
For more than a decade, my wife and I have supported brain science through TCCI (Chen Institute), and that work has shaped how I think about intelligence and its role in humanity’s future. It has also shaped my view of AI: its highest purpose is NOT simply to imitate human beings but to expand human discovery and understanding. Both AI and human intelligence are to serve humanity as a whole, not just any single country, building an organization that can operate responsibly across different jurisdictions is not optional — it is part of the work itself.
This is the kind of company we want to build: rigorous in its thinking, clear in its structure, global in its outlook, and compliant by design. In a world like this, no one-time transfer is a real solution. What matters is continuous adjustment to preserve clarity — in structure, in boundaries, and in responsibility — so that the organization can become more resilient over time.Show More

One Sentence Summary
Baoyu interprets Tianqiao Chen's views on cross-border AI operations, emphasizing 'built-in compliance' and continuous governance over simple 'architectural transfers.'
Summary
This tweet provides a deep analysis of Tianqiao Chen's reflections on global AI operations triggered by the Manus incident. Key points include: AI should expand human cognition rather than just imitate humans; cross-border operation should be a core part of organizational design; and opposition to one-time transfers (like moving to Singapore) to evade regulation. Instead, Chen advocates for 'compliance by design' and continuous organizational resilience to meet geopolitical challenges. The tweet also contrasts the global layout models of Chen's MiroMind and TCCI.
