Apple has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI for stealing trade secrets and demanding the destruction of confidential materials, involving former Apple executive Tang Tan and hundreds of former employees who have joined OpenAI.

当地时间周五，苹果公司将OpenAI告上法庭，指控AI大模型巨头大肆窃取iPhone制造商的知识产权，用来开发自己的消费级AI硬件。
在提交给北加州联邦法院的诉状中，苹果表示：“从技术人员到首席硬件官，OpenAI各个层级的员工都在与商业伙伴协同，窃取苹果的商业秘密和机密信息......OpenAI刚起步的硬件业务由此建立在极不稳固的基础之上，其核心已因非法依赖被窃取的商业秘密而腐烂不堪。”
苹果公司在诉讼中要求OpenAI停止此类行为并销毁所有机密资料，同时重新设计即将推出的产品，确保其中不包含任何苹果技术。
根据坊间传闻，OpenAI可能会在今年下半年推出首款智能硬件，并有可能在未来几年里进军智能手机市场。
作为这起诉讼的关键人物，OpenAI首席硬件官Tang Tan也被单独列为被告。他曾担任苹果公司的产品设计副总裁，负责领导iPhone、智能手表、AirPods等多款产品的设计工作。Tan于2024年初离职，追随老领导、前苹果首席设计官乔纳森·埃维(Jony Ive)。
去年，OpenAI以65亿美元的价格收购了埃维创办的io，成为其硬件研发工作的基石，io也在这起诉讼中被列为被告。
苹果公司在起诉书中表示，Tan在担任OpenAI高管期间，要求来自苹果的求职者提供开发中产品的信息，包括把苹果的“实际产品部件”带到面试现场，以便进一步获取苹果的机密信息。
苹果还指控称，Tan还曾在一些苹果员工向公司提交离职通知前，将苹果内部一份名为“Need to Know”（按需知悉）的文件交给即将入职OpenAI的他们并进行传播。OpenAI曾建议即将离职的苹果员工不要透露他们的下一份工作单位，以继续接触苹果的机密信息与商业秘密。
苹果还指控称，OpenAI要求硬件厂商使用苹果发明的金属表面处理技术，同时“误导这些合作伙伴，让他们误以为已获得苹果的许可”。
诉状中还提及一名曾在苹果工作8年的高级系统电气工程师Chang Liu，他于今年1月跳槽加盟OpenAI。苹果公司称，Liu下载了一份“包含上千页内容的技术文件汇编”，其中记载了他曾在苹果公司工作的相关细节，其中包括关于苹果硬件产品中所用复杂电路板的详细制造文档。
诉状显示，目前有超过400名前苹果员工正在为OpenAI工作。
对于两家公司而言，最新的诉讼正是关系彻底破裂的最终官宣。它们曾在2024年达成备受瞩目的合作，当时苹果把ChatGPT整合进iPhone的操作系统。自从OpenAI宣布请来前苹果灵魂设计师埃维操刀AI硬件产品后，双方的关系便开始紧张起来。
作为表象，苹果公司今年秋季即将推出的新版Siri助手，背后的AI底座是谷歌的Gemini，而非OpenAI的技术。
与此同时，苹果也在研发一系列新硬件，包括智能眼镜、挂饰以及配备摄像功能的AirPods，都是面向人工智能时代的产品。不过根据此前消息，负责Vision Pro头显及智能眼镜项目的副总裁保罗·米德于上周离职并加入OpenAI。
苹果公司表示，数月前曾试图通过庭外方式解决与OpenAI的纠纷，要求对方停止相关行动并销毁所有机密资料。由于未收到回复，苹果才决定提起诉讼。
