Summary
The article reports that a road in Jishan County, Yuncheng, Shanxi collapsed in 2024年12月, exposing many white bones. The Jishan County Cultural Relics Protection Center confirmed the bones as remains from the Battle of Yubi. The collapse occurred at the northeast cliff of the Yubi City ruins, covering about 80 平方米, mainly due to the steep cliff and long-term wind and rain erosion. After the incident, local authorities set up warning signs and safety lines, and requested the relevant township and village committees to change the road alignment to prevent further damage from vehicle pressure. Additionally, the locality applied in 2025年 for an archaeological survey and exploration project of the Yubi City ruins, planned to be carried out in 2026年, and submitted a proposal for the site’s core protection and restoration project, awaiting approval from the National Cultural Heritage Administration. The Yubi City ruins were first built in the fourth year of the Western Wei’s Datong era (538年), preserving sections of the southern city wall, mass graves, beacon towers, and underground tunnels; they are significant for studying Northern Dynasties history, military tactics, and ancient warfare, and were listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit by the State Council in 2013年。
