7月28日晚，彭水县 发布情况通报：
彭水山体崩塌救援工作进入深度搜寻以来，专业救援力量24小时连续作业，按照“不漏一处、不留盲区”的搜寻原则，进行反复排查、层层推进、逐一搜寻。截至目前，已全面完成对A、B区的搜寻，C、D区搜寻工作进入最后攻坚阶段。
7月23日以来，截至7月28日21时，经对现场搜寻到的遗体及残骸进行DNA检测鉴定后，已累计新搜寻确认出30名遇难者。另有部分搜寻结果正在DNA检测中。
