2025年9月，家住温州的李女士正为孩子升入国际高中发愁。经朋友介绍，她认识了某留学咨询服务公司负责人刘某。交谈中，刘某拍着胸脯保证，自己认识上海某国际高中校长，只要缴8万元“渠道费”，就能安排孩子就读。见刘某说得信誓旦旦，急于给孩子找个好出路的李女士当即转账。同年11月，孩子收到该校的录取通知书，这让李女士对刘某的“能力”深信不疑。
然而，随后的两个月里，刘某多次以“帮忙代缴学费”“特殊渠道入学需缴纳保证金”“代缴宿舍费”等名义，不断催促李女士转账。出于信任，李女士陆续向其提供的个人账户转账29万余元。2026年1月，孩子突然反映无法登录学校内部系统，联系校方得知，孩子的学费缴纳早已过了最晚期限，已经被终止入学。

其中，颜同学委托刘某办理海外留学事宜，在收到学校正规录取通知书后，刘某谎称可代为缴纳语言班课程费、留位费、签证费及学费等，诱骗颜同学转账20万余元。实际上，这笔钱款并未进入学校账户，而是被刘某私自挪用。最终，颜同学因错过官方缴费时限，无奈失去了入学资格。而全同学在 报案中表示，其向海外某大学核实后发现，刘某虚构了保证金等多项缴费内容。
